Key Events

Waterford AC hosts several flagship events throughout the year. Registration typically opens several weeks in advance.

  • Annual Half Marathon — The club's signature road race, returning after a hiatus since December 2019. Registration details are announced on the Events page and via club news.
  • BlueWall Waterford to Tramore 7.5 Mile Race — A popular point-to-point road race held in spring. The 2018 edition drew 390 participants.

The 200 Point League offers a season-long competition format that rewards consistency across multiple athletic disciplines. Athletes accumulate points based on their performances in track events, field events, and cross-country races held throughout the season. This structure encourages participants to test their abilities across a range of distances and techniques rather than specialising in a single event. The league fosters friendly rivalry among club members while building all-around fitness and experience. Points are tallied after each meet, with standings updated regularly so athletes can track their progress. Whether you are a sprinter, distance runner, jumper, or thrower, the league provides a motivating pathway to improve across the board and earn recognition for versatility and dedication.
