Notable achievements include Nichola Hayes Tighe setting a new National Record for over-40 women's 60m hurdles, Grace Furlong retaining her All-Ireland U-23 triple jump title in Athlone, and Barry Keane clocking 7:59.41 to become the 7th Bulldog under 8 minutes.

Members of Waterford Athletic Club know that the track season brings a unique energy to the city. From the first warm spring evenings at the RSC through to the summer championship meets, athletes of all ages gather to test their speed and endurance. The club's training groups cater to everyone from juvenile newcomers learning the basics of sprinting and jumping to senior athletes sharpening their race fitness. Cross country sessions build strength during the cooler months, while the indoor season offers a chance to focus on technique and power. Each phase of the year brings its own rewards and challenges.

The club's committee works year-round to ensure that training schedules, competition entries, and facility access run smoothly for every member. Communication is key, and regular updates keep families and athletes informed about session changes, event deadlines, and gear orders. Whether it is a reminder about an upcoming open meet or a notice about holiday training breaks, staying connected helps the community thrive. The club shop periodically opens for new kit orders, allowing members to represent Waterford AC with pride at events across Ireland and beyond.

Achievements on the track and field are celebrated throughout the club, from personal bests in the 100m and 400m to podium finishes at national competitions. The relay teams often generate particular excitement, as athletes combine individual talent with collective effort. Juvenile athletes frequently progress through the ranks to represent the club at senior level, a testament to the strong developmental pathway on offer. Coaches and volunteers dedicate countless hours to nurturing this talent, ensuring that every athlete receives the guidance needed to reach their potential.

Beyond the competition arena, Waterford Athletic Club fosters a genuine sense of belonging. The social side of the club is just as important as the training, with members gathering for club events, fundraisers, and community runs along the Greenway or at Tramore. These occasions strengthen bonds between families and create lasting friendships across age groups. The club also encourages athletes to give back, whether by helping at juvenile sessions or assisting with event organisation. This spirit of mutual support is what makes Waterford AC more than just a club.
