Training

All our adult sessions are open to everyone both members and non members.

For new juveniles please come along to any one of our sessions and speak with one of our coaches. There is no need to prearrange this.

All our sessions are insured, lead by qualified Garda vetted coaches, and adhere fully to Athletics Ireland Code of Ethics for child protection


Mondays

Beginner/Improver Track Session for: Junior, Master, Senior

Where: Regional Sports Centre
When: 19:30 - 20:30
Price: €2 for Members, €3 for non Members
Description:

This session concentrates on proper warm up and cool down. There are also exercises to strengthen your core as well as some speed work. All these elements work towards building stamina and strength. The group is split in two with the first group suitable for complete beginners looking to learn more about running surrounded by people of your own ability. There is also a slightly harder group for improvers.



Tuesdays

Improver/Advanced Running Session for: Junior, Master, Senior

Where: WIT Arena
When: 17:45 - 18:45
Price: €3 for Members, €5 for non Members
Description:

A group session aimed at anyone training for 800/1500m runners up to and including Half Marathon runners. The session can also be easily adjusted to suit Marathon runners. Generally, people running sub 40min for 5miles or sub 1.50 for Half Marathon will find the session great for improved strength and racing. We train on grass all Winter and track or road during the Summer. Everyone is welcome, both Waterford AC members and non-members. Please note non Waterford AC members will need to sign in at the front desk.

This training class concentrates specifically on Running. Training is on Grass in WIT Arena and prepares Athletes for Cross Country.

Training covers all aspects of athletics from throws, jumps, and track. Suitable for ages 8+.

Extra event specific coaching is organised by coaches to prepare for upcoming events

Session is aimed at young people and concentrates on fun. Suitable for ages 5, 6, and 7



Saturdays

Speed Session for: Junior, Master, Senior

Where: Regional Sports Centre
When: 10:00 - 11:00
Price: €3 for Members, €5 for non Members
Description:

A speed session on the track designed to help you improve your race times and general finish. For this please sign in & pay at front desk, warm up beforehand & be ready to go at 10am
