.....MUNSTER SCHOOLS CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS....

The Munster Schools XC championships took place today on Clarecastle, Co. Clare, where the conditions were very wet but a fair course, where some of our athletes represented there various schools.

Below are some of the Results to hand.

In order to progress to the All Ireland Schools the following is the criteria, Top 15 individual and top 3 teams qualify, these finals will be held in Santry on March 7th.

Our very own Órla O'Connor whom is on scholarship in America, with Providence College, took part in the 2020 BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational, which was held at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center.

Orla, completed in the 3,000m event @ finished 13th position in a super time of 9.54:56.

Keep up the good work Orla, from us all in WAC, well done.

More news from across the Atlantic Ocean, Barry Keane runs a super 13.50:66 to finish 4th in an invitational race over 5,000m. Currently 2nd fastest from his college of all time and 16th in NCAA records.

Well done Barry from everyone in WAC, we’ll look forward to watching for more stunning performances in the coming weeks.

David McGlynn of Waterford AC has continued his good form of late from the Cross Country Season to the indoors. This morning David finished 2nd in the 3k university indoors in Athlone, running a new pb of 8.26.

Congratulations on the silver medal David, from us all in WAC.

Some great results followed in the National IUAA National Championships where Lance Baylon had his first outing for University of Ulster. James Murphy set a new indoor PB in the Long Jump final competing for WIT Vikings. Grace Furlong set a new UCC record in the Triple Jump 12.11 finishing second.
Competing for Colleges around the Country but always team WAC.

Well done to all our athletes who took part in Nenagh yesterday.

Congratulations to Maebh O Connor who won the U17 Walk.
Ryan Dwyer and Aoife Cleary made the 60m semifinals from very big numbers competing in all events.
