Later in the day Jamie McCarthy and David McGlynn made the county team that won bronze in the u16 boys.  In the U18 boys Barry Keane and Conor Quinn were on the county team that won gold and with Barry finishing in the top 10 individual will represent the province as well as the county in the follow on all Ireland cross country championships. Great to get so many WAC qualifiers through to the nationals and well done to all who took part and gained more valuable experience at this stage in their young careers....and of course the parents and coaches encouraging them all the way.

Day 1 of county cross country a great success

A great day of cross country for all members of Waterford AC who competed in Dungarvan today. In the juveniles we had 6 teams making the medals with 4 teams winning silver and 2 winning bronze. Details in the picture below (Click on picture to open larger). Lindsey McGuire won the U 14 race with Jamie McCarthy an excellent second in the U16 race.

No teams were fielded in U14 boys, U 16 boys and both U18 boys and girls so hopefully we will have all legs to the grass for next week at the same venue for the uneven age group county finals.

NOTE: An earlier time for the start of 11:30 with races from u9 to U17.

The senior counties saw great results also with a win for the men's A team and 3rd for the B team and the ladies came 2nd. Details and pictures on our facebook page.
